How to convert images to PDF

PDF preparation guide

Preparing images before you convert to PDF

Many application portals accept PDF uploads for certificates, mark sheets, receipts, and multi-page identity proofs. Converting a blurry or skewed photo into a PDF does not fix readability problems—it only packages the same image into a different container. Crop, straighten, and compress images first when the portal also enforces size limits on the source files.

Choose combined PDF mode when the portal expects one file with pages in order. Choose separate PDFs when each certificate or receipt must be uploaded to its own field. Keep pages upright and in sequence before converting so reviewers are not forced to rotate every page.

Page size choices

A4 and US Letter are useful when the destination expects a standard printable page. Original-size pages are helpful when you want each image to keep its natural proportions without letterboxing on a fixed paper size. If a portal later prints the file, A4 or Letter is usually safer.

Quality and file size

Large camera photos can create oversized PDFs. If an upload fails for file size, resize or compress the images with the main editor first, then convert. Readable text matters more than maximum resolution once the page is already clear at normal zoom.

Privacy

Image-to-PDF conversion runs in your browser using client-side libraries. Your selected images are not uploaded to ImageCropAndResize for conversion. You still control where you send the finished PDF afterward.

Common mistakes

  • Combining unrelated documents into one PDF when the portal wants separate files.
  • Leaving pages sideways or out of order.
  • Converting dark, glare-filled phone photos without retaking them.
  • Assuming a PDF bypasses dimension rules that still apply to image-only fields.
